1968 Pontiac LeMans Convertible
This 1968 Pontiac LeMans convertible was refurbished before the current owner’s 2020 acquisition, and it is powered by a fuel-injected 428ci V8 that is equipped with an Edelbrock intake manifold, MSD ignition, Hooker exhaust manifolds, and Pypes mufflers. The car is finished in purple with a power-operated black soft top, and a rear spoiler and GTO badging are installed along with 15″ Cragar wheels, power steering and front disc brakes, and aftermarket rear control arms. The cabin is outfitted with tan vinyl upholstery, Vintage Air climate control, AutoMeter instrumentation, and a Lokar shifter that controls the four-speed automatic transmission.
The car is finished in purple with a power-operated black convertible soft top, and it was repainted during the refurbishment. Chrome 15″ Cragar wheels are mounted with staggered-width BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The car is equipped with power steering, aftermarket rear control arms, and KYB front shocks.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in tan vinyl and are joined by a matching dashboard top, door panels, and boot cover. A Vintage Air climate control system is installed along with a Lokar shifter, an AM radio, and lap belts for all occupants.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel sits on a tilting column and frames an AutoMeter speedometer, tachometer, and instruments for voltage, water temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The replacement odometer shows 775 miles. True mileage is unknown.
The replacement 428ci V8 is equipped with Holley Sniper fuel injection and an Edelbrock intake manifold, water pump, air cleaner assembly, and valve covers along with MSD ignition components and Hooker exhaust manifolds. A Pypes exhaust system is installed.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery.
