1980 Porsche 911SC Weissach Coupe

This 1980 Porsche 911SC coupe is one of approximately 400 Weissach Coupes produced. Powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, the car is finished in Platinum Metallic over Doric Grey leather with red accents. Details consist of  15″ Fuchs alloy wheels, Turbo-specification tie rods, a Dansk rear muffler, a sunroof, H4 headlights, headlight washers, fog lights, a whale-tail rear spoiler, a MOMO steering wheel, a Blaupunkt stereo, cruise control, an alloy shift knob, and power windows. This 911SC coupe shows 76k miles and is now offered for sale with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity from 1993, a tool roll, and spare parts.

Named for the home of Porsche’s research and development center, the special-edition Weissach Coupe was offered in Platinum Metallic (X6) or Black Metallic and included a front chin spoiler, a whale-tail rear spoiler, powered and heated side mirrors, a power antenna, fog lights, and a sunroof. This example has been fitted with European-style Bosch H4 headlights with body-color bezels, and it was specified with headlight washers. The power antenna was replaced in December 2022. Areas of paint on the rear decklid badge are missing, and close-up photos of the paint and trim condition are viewable in the gallery below. The previous owner noted that paintwork was completed under prior ownership.

Body-color Fuchs 15″ wheels with polished lips are mounted with 195/65 front and 215/60 rear Pirelli P6000 tires that were installed in August 2022. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with ventilated rotors. Turbo-specification tie rod assemblies were installed in July 2022.

The interior was refreshed under previous ownership, and it features bucket seats upholstered in Doric Grey leather with red piping along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include power windows, cruise control, an alloy shift knob, a Blaupunkt Skagen 400 DAB stereo head unit, and black Porsche-branded floor mats.

The MOMO Prototipo three-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as an 85-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 76k miles.

The 3.0-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection and was factory rated at 172 horsepower and 189 lb-ft of torque. Work in 2022 included replacing the oil thermostat, intake tube, return tube, and sending unit along with the engine sump plate and lower valve cover gaskets. Service in July 2025 consisted of replacing the alternator, accessory drive belt, and battery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. The car has been retrofitted with a Dansk muffler.

The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity lists the engine number, options, and a delivery date of April 25th, 1981. A tool roll and the removed stock headlights and headlight trim rings are included in the sale.
