396-Powered 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle

This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe was refurbished and modified in 2024, according to the seller, with work that involved the installation of a 396ci V8 linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear end with a Positraction differential. The body was repainted in white after the fenders and quarter panels were replaced, and it has replacement glass, SS badging, and black side stripes. Inside, the black front bucket seats and rear bench are accompanied by a center console, a Hurst shifter, and Bosch auxiliary gauges. The car is also equipped with power steering, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ Rally wheels as well as an Edelbrock carburetor, a Pro Comp intake manifold, dual electric radiator fans, and a dual exhaust system with Hooker headers and an X-pipe.

The body was repainted in white with black side stripes under current ownership, and the seller notes the glass, inner and outer front fenders, and rear quarter panels were replaced during the build. Details include SS badging, dual side mirrors, and chrome bumpers.

The 15″ Rally wheels are wrapped in 235/60 front and 255/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The seller notes the ride height was lowered by one inch, and the shocks and springs were replaced. The car is equipped with power steering as well as power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.

The interior was re-trimmed with a replacement headliner, seat upholstery, carpeting, door panels, and pedals. The front bucket seats and rear bench seats are trimmed in black vinyl, and interior appointments include a center console, a Hurst shifter, an AM/FM radio, and retractable front lap belts. The car does not have a heater or air conditioning.

The SS-branded steering wheel frames a column-mounted Bosch tachometer as well as a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel-level gauge, and warning lamps. Bosch gauges for temperature, voltage, and oil pressure are mounted below the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 79k miles, approximately 350 of which have been added under current ownership. The seller states the mileage is not accurate, and total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 396ci big-block V8 was installed in 2024 and features a Pro Comp polished aluminum intake manifold, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an HEI distributor, and chrome valve covers. The radiator has an aftermarket shroud and dual electric cooling fans.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear end with a Positraction limited-slip differential. Coated Hooker headers feed into a dual exhaust system with an X-pipe.
